Keith walking floor systems provide a true first in, first out ice product rotation without leaving troublesome residual ice in the bin. Each system is capable of being load started and can be designed to handle virtually unlimited tonnage.

The systems sub-floor is made from the durable 6061-T6
aluminum alloy. Beneath every slat is KEITH's patented self-lubricating bearing.
Floor slats are also made of sturdy 6061-T6. A coating of food-grade polyethylene
provides the final touch.
The comb comes mounted at a 25 degree fixed angle and is constructed of FDA
approved materials. Four UHMW sprockets, in conjunction with food-grade polymer
chains, drive the comb. The combs rake flights are made of long lasting
stainless steel. Powering the entire comb system is a variable speed hydraulic
motor.

Installation of a Keith Walking Floor Ice Bin Storage &
Conveying System is a simple process. Units ship pre-assembled and because
each system is custom designed, ice bins can be made to almost any specifications.
Ice Bin walls are constructed of fiberglass-reinforced plywood and gel-coated
for direct contact with food products. Substructures are welded, structural
aluminum for maximum strength

At the core of the Keith ice bin is the bi-directional drive
unit, which typically consists of three hydraulic cylinders arranged in a
drive frame. KEITH indexes the barrel, not the rod of the cylinder, creating
a more robust system.

Ideal for any application that requires the storage and conveying
of ice, Keith systems can be used to meter packaged ice; provide ice during
poultry or fish processing; maintain peak freshness of fruits and vegetables
in the field; or deliver ice for the concrete industry.
In the packaged ice industry, Keith Walking Floor Ice Storage & Conveying
Systems provide flexible equipment that will meter tube, mini-tube or plate
ice. The vertical comb system drastically reduces product damage caused by
the excessive scraping of conventional horizontal rakes. Less ice is lost
through snow and fines, increasing profits. Equipped with this unique vertical
comb, a Keith ice bin provides an uninterrupted flow of ice. Unmanageable
ice clumps are easily broken up and then cascade to downstream augers.
In poultry processing plants, keith walking floor ice bins are a safer alternative
to floor auger systems, because employees do not work in close proximity to
hazardous equipment. Hydraulically powered floor slats feed the ice to a vertical
comb system where congealed ice is re-fractured before being metered forward.
